Wyatt's new wool longies!

I've had these for about 2 weeks and love them! They're made by Brandi - or Stitchblade - as I always call her :)

They're recycled wool pants - or longies. She takes a wool sweater and makes them from it, using the arms for legs! It's an ingenious idea, really. I've purchased several things from her - a pair of capris, shorties and longies - as well as a pair of longies for a gift for a girlfriend. I couldn't be happier with her products and I must say she makes some cute aprons as well!

This time she even threw in a matching hat for wyatt for free - how sweet! Thanks so much!

(and for those who don't know WHY I would put wool pants on my little man - they're a diaper cover for my prefold diapers :) Wool is naturally absorbent and neutralizes urine - pretty nifty, huh?

Wyatt's custom diapers!

I ordered and received these quite a few weeks ago, but never was able to get the pictures off my computer until now. They're made by Christi at Little Bean Diapers and now that we've broken them in and figured out what works best absorbency wise - I love them! They are very well made and super cute, too!

You did a great job Christi!

funny moments

So Maddie comes into the kitchen and tells me - Mommy I've got one of wyatt's diapers on!

She lifts up her dress and it's actually his Fleece cover with the whale embroidered on it - and she has it on backwards... and it's incredibly too small...

And then she started asking to nurse - something she hasn't done in ages...

and now she's running up and down the hall saying "diaper" in a silly little baby voice.

all the while wyatt is running around with a lemon - chewing on it - until he realized that it actually wasn't tasty and started crying.

Now he's trying out a lime.

Custom Diapers for Wyatt

Some of you who know me already know that we switched to 100% cloth diapering late last year. I've really enjoyed the switch and become very addicted to the custom diapers made by work-at-home-moms (WAHM's).

We use a variety of styles - prefolds and fitteds with covers, along with pockets and all-in-ones (AIOs). I was a big fan of Bum Genius 3.0 diapers - until wyatt discovered he could take them off because they were velcro - and he's sneaky - he can get them unhitched when he's fully clothed - without going under his clothes even!

So I was at a loss - I needed some diapers that were convenient - for church nursery and babysitters and Daddy, of course.

Being part of Granola Chicks has really opened my eyes to so many different things - from homemade dipes and wipes (Cottonmamma rocks!) to handmade soaps (also another product I love from cottonmamma). As I've participated in the community I've heard so much about Little Bean Diapers, made by Christi. So when it came time to replace the BG's I went to Christi with a custom order.

We're getting 9 diapers - 7 AIO's and 2 Nighttime - a few are embroidered and the rest I kept plain. She's just posted pictures of 7 of them and I can't wait to get them next week. Click on this link and it will take you to her site to see what they look like - The FSU one is a surprise for Mike - he's going to be so excited to see his little boy running around in that diaper!
