Every day I start with the intention of writing something - anything! - but it hasn't happened. The more days that go by the more upset I get with myself for not writing - about the kids, our life right now, the garden, birth stuff, etc.
So I'm going back to making lists - because that has always worked in the past to get me back into writing. If you see something of particular interest - leave me a comment and let me know you'd like the rest of the story and I'll make an effort to write it out.
Maddie's 4th Birthday party - the birthday garden
Wyatt's naked romp at my parents house - "I spit it out mommy," as he pointed to the puddle of pee on the floor.
Gardening adventures - what's growing, seeds, etc.
Doula certification on hold...
Wyatt's upcoming trip to see a pediatric ENT at UAB (University of Alabama-Birmingham)
La Leche League Leader accreditation
The drama in the birth community and other petty onslaughts (might only be available through LJ).
Grandma Grace is back - and oh so happy to visit with Wyatt on Mardi Gras.
"No- I not take a nap!" and other dramatics by the two-year old in the house.
"Excuse me, you don't talk to your mother that way!" and other interesting things Maddie says to her brother and others - but doesn't practice herself.
Dear Madeleine - on your 4th Birthday (this will be written in the next week).
Busy season for Mike coming up - lots of away time from us - starting in mid-march (gone for 2+weeks then)

Unwell
My littlest angel is unwell today. He had a fair night - up and down about 3 times - but when he awoke this morning I could tell that he wasn't feeling quite right. Quickly he started to heave - although never got sick. I scooped him up and took him into the bathroom and sat there with him in my arms and a towel in my lap - just in case. When nothing appeared - we crawled back in bed and cuddled for a little bit.
Soon after that it happened again and this time he did get a little sick - thankfully it was only breastmilk from his night of nursing.
Afterwards he seemed normal - asking for crackers and a peanut butter spoon. He drank some water - we had a nice shower and he was jumping around, chasing the cat, etc.
I busied myself with the 16-bean soup I was making and he disappeared down the hallway - to go to "mommy bed" as we call it. A few minutes later he started crying and came running out to me - into my arms - heaving again. Nothing transpired, though - and I scooped him up and put him back into my bed with some cartoons, a kitten and his paci. He pulled the fuzzy covers up around his face and within minutes he was asleep- resting his poor little body.
Just now I went to check on him - stroking his pale, innocent face I remembered all the times Maddie has been ill with a stomach virus - and how similar he looks to her - sleeping in my bed.
I hope it passes quickly - because he's just not himself today. I want my spunky little boy back!

Sick Day
I'm taking a sick day for myself today. Maddie is at school - I'm not going to Bible Study and Wyatt and I are going to hang out at the house and not do much of anything. It's a dreary day outside (although wonderfully cool!). I've got a terrible sore throat and off and on chills/sweats.
We went to the medicine store for some throat drops and I got a hot coffee from Seattle Drip (way better than starbucks IMO).
It will be nice to be lazy.
